During our 2018 visit to Tanzania, we were confronted by a dire need.  We saw infants left with relatives after their mothers died in childbirth.  To our surprise, we found that there is no local access to infant formula and an unwillingness to share breast milk.  In fact, the expectation is that these children will not survive. We brought a small amount of formula with us, and by working with in country contacts we have since arranged for a reserve of infant formula to be available to any child in this region left without a mother. We are committed to replenishing this supply as needed and truly hope this program continues to grow.
