In 2023, Larksview Foundation returned to the Upendo wa Mungo Health Center in the Kasansa region of Tanzania with a team of volunteer medical professionals. Each licensed professional is required to apply for and obtain a permit to provide care in Tanzania.  The foundation gathers all of the necessary documentation from our volunteers and submits it well in advance of our trip.  The process can be tedious and is usually started 4-6 months prior to our departure.

Our team is given a variety of articles and information on some of the disease and challenges expected to be seen in the patient population.  Careful thought is put into organizing and ordering meds for our pharmacy. Donations are crammed into suitcases that are filled to the maximum weight allowance.  Following months of preparation, anticipation, and travel, we finally arrive ready for clinic week…
